Her untimely passing has left her family, friends, and the many students she mentored deeply heartbroken. Kristina was a vibrant, caring individual whose passion for cheerleading, dance, and her loved ones defined her life and legacy.
Born in Brighton, Massachusetts, Kristina was the beloved daughter of Steven P. Mey and the late Karen (Tsacoyianis) Mey. Her early years were spent in Watertown, where she attended Watertown Public Schools. From a young age, Kristina exhibited a love for cheerleading, beginning her journey at just six years old when she started Cheer Camp JAG in Woburn, Massachusetts. Her enthusiasm and talent for cheerleading and competition quickly became evident, and she participated in numerous cheer competitions, showcasing her dedication and love for the sport.
Kristina’s passion for cheer and dance continued to grow throughout her adolescence. After graduating from Watertown High School, she furthered her education at Middlesex Community College. During her college years, she worked at the Chateau Restaurant in Waltham as a hostess, demonstrating her friendly and welcoming nature. She also returned to her roots at JAG Cheer and Dance in Woburn, a place that had become much more than just a school to her—it was a second family. Kristina’s involvement there was profound; she taught cheer and dance to hundreds of boys and girls over the years, inspiring many with her enthusiasm, patience, and dedication. Her students adored her, and she attended countless competitions, always cheering on her team with pride.
Kristina’s family moved to Milford for a time, and after her mother’s passing in 2023, they relocated to Bolton, Massachusetts, where they made their new home. Despite life’s changes, Kristina remained steadfast in her passions and her love for her family. When she wasn’t at JAG, she cherished spending quality time with her loved ones. She was particularly fond of building Lego creations, often spending hours designing and constructing intricate structures, a hobby that reflected her creativity and patience. Her warm smile and kind heart touched everyone she encountered, and she was known for her generous spirit and infectious positivity.
Kristina’s family was her world. She was the cherished daughter of Steven P. Mey and the late Karen Mey. She is also survived by her brother, Stevie Patrick Mey, who was a close confidant and source of support. Her loving aunts and uncles—Dean Tsacoyianis and his wife Jane, Gary Tsacoyianis and his wife Rosemary, Michael Mey, and Paul Mey and his wife Joanne—along with many other relatives and friends, will miss her dearly. Her death leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
A funeral service in honor of Kristina will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, located at 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, MA, beginning at 10 a.m. Visitation will take place the day before, on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects to a young woman who brought so much joy into their lives.

A scholarship fund is being established to support aspiring cheerleaders and dancers, ensuring her legacy of mentorship and encouragement endures.
